Lennar, Pepper Viner, Miller, Bauer & McCaleb Named Builders of the Year
The Southern Arizona Home Builders Association has recognized 12 honorees for industry excellence in 2007, highlighted by its Annual Builder of the Year awards. The 2007 SAHBA winners were:

Builder of Year (over 450 units): Lennar accepted by Tucson Division President Steve Craddock

Builder of Year (100-449 units): Pepper Viner Homes accepted by President Bill Viner and Executive Vice President Mike Whyde

Builder of Year (less than 100 units): John Wesley Miller Companies, owner John Wesley Miller

Custom Builder of Year: Bauer Homes, owners Brad and Sandy Bauer

Remodeler of Year: McCaleb Construction, owner John McCaleb

Associate of Year: Bright Future Business Consultants, owner John Strobeck

Trade Partner of Year: Johnson-Manley Lumber Company, President Pat Manley

Individual Member of Year: John Shorbe, Sr., Canoa Development

Community Housing Special Award: Habitat for Humanity accepted by Executive Director Michael McDonald

Sales Manager of Year: Jill Jones, Lennar

Elected Public Official: Helen Dankwerth, Oro Valley Vice Mayor

Public Official (non-elected): Mike Reuswaat, Marana Town Manager
These awards are the highest honors that the Association bestows. Nominees are judged on criteria such as professionalism, business ethics, product quality, safety, number of units completed/sold, SAHBA participation, community service, and professional education, training and certification.
The honors were presented January 26 at the SAHBA Installation & Awards Banquet, before some 6 5 0 members and guests at the Desert Diamond Casino Entertainment Center.
SAHBA represents 750 member businesses and 35,000 jobs serving the residential construction industry in Pima and Cochise counties.
