The SAHBA Institute of Construction
In September, the first class of 14 studetns graduated after a year of on-the-job training and in-classroom instruction. These are some of their comments.
"There were times I wanted to give up on myself. But, the encouraging words spoken to us in class made me push myself even more to not give up. In everything I do, I don't want to be a quitter or loser. Now I walk away as a "woman" with something in my hand that I've worked so long for."
"The teaching style Les Wolf utilizes, parallels the working construction environment. What I didn't learn, guess I'll need to work a year to answer that question. Construction is – a mans' world – it is blatantly profane, brusque, and unforgiving. The classroom presentation has to be delivered in a similar fashion. I am still passionate about home construction despite being bone-tired, bruised and foul-mouthed!"
"The overall experience gave me an opportunity to progress in this industry as one may apply oneself to the overall instruction, concepts, and experience we gained."

"Over the entire course, I have improved as an individual. I never thought I would be able to work a 60-hour workweek, frame a house, and I had no idea I would be able to read blue prints. This (class) has improved what my future will be."
