Forsite PRO Can Prevent Mold

According to Reactive Hazard Ranking Model developed by the American Risk Management Resources, the dry states are at a high risk for mold; Nevada ranks fifth and Arizona is sixth.

“It's hard to believe isn't it?” said Jack Foote, Vice President of TBMW Enterprises. “There are thousands of mold species on earth and Arizona has some of the worst with black mold.”

Growing in crevasses, mold can be harmful because some people are unaware that they have it. Not only is it harmful to people, but to their homes. Black mold can cause homes to decay.

However, there is a solution in Tucson : Forsite-PRO. A certified wall-cavity sealer, it prevents the formation of destructive molds and mildews in homes. It is a water-based, acrylic sealant that is installed inside walls. The translucent blue formula dries in 30 minutes.

“The product is sprayed in the home cavity before windows are installed, during the stud process,” said Foote. “If treated with Foresite, the mold will not grow.”

It was developed in 1996 to pre-treat wood, concrete, masonry and strand board during new residential or commercial construction. A certified, factory-trained installer sprays the product around wet areas such as bathrooms, kitchen sinks, wall cavities and hot water heaters. It also is sprayed around windows and the perimeter of the home.

With a 20-year warranty, it covers the cost of replacement, plus the cost of remedial labor for treated areas. The warranty is registered to the property and given a serial number.

“The warranty is fully transferable during the twenty year term if you sell your home,” said Foote, a SAHBA member.

“Your homeowners insurance will not cover mold damage,” said Foote. “If you are building a home or thinking about a home, make sure to ask your SAHBA builder about the Forsite-PRO program. The cost is low and the benefits are great.”

In Southern Arizona , SAHBA members TBMW Enterprises and Northwest Exterminating are certified installers of Forsite-PRO.
