Lennar, Pepper Viner, and John Wesley Miller Companies
honored as Top Builders
The Southern Arizona Home Builder Association (SAHBA) named Lennar, Pepper Viner Homes and John Wesley Miller Companies Top Production Builders of 2007. The companies were honored based on criteria such as, professionalism, business ethics, product quality, safety, certification and community service.
Lennar won SAHBA's Builder of the Year (over 450 closings). Tucson Division President Steve Craddock accepted the award for Lennar's Empire Vista neighborhood, located near I-10 and Valencia Road . Empire Vista Anniversary and Summit homes range from 3 to 4 bedrooms, with prices from $174,524 to $332,540. The communities feature three designs.
Pepper Viner Homes President Bill Viner and Executive Vice President Mike Whyde accepted the award for Builder of the Year (100-450 closings). The honor was given for its Civano North Ridge neighborhood, located off of Houghton Road just south of Irvington Road.
Civano North Ridge is an innovative community that is focused on “high performance” with “high design.” The homes in the neighborhood have shown a measurable savings of 50% or more on heating and cooling costs because of standards like, Dupont Tyvek insulation, solar hot water heaters and duct work that is located in insulated areas, according to Pepper Viner.
Civano North Ridge features six home designs ranging from 2,000 to 2,700 square feet. The homes are priced from $481,900 to $489,900.
Like the other Builder of the Year winners, Pepper Viner is an active community member. In 2007, Pepper Viner supported charities such as the Ronald McDonald House and the Tucson Housing Trust Fund.
John Wesley Miller Companies was honored for Armory Park del Sol neighborhood, located in the heart of downtown Tucson on Third Avenue. Owner John Wesley Miller accepted the award for Builder of the Year (less than 100 closings).
Amory Park del Sol is a community of 2 to 3 bedroom homes, priced from $396,000 to $879,000. Six different home designs feature solar panels and solar hot water heaters. Miller took design elements from the surrounding historic neighborhood and incorporated them into new high-tech homes.
