American Openings, SAHBA Raise $4,000 for UA Steele Research Center
For a second consecutive year, the Southern Arizona Home Builders Association (SAHBA) and American Openings have raised money for the University of Arizona Steele Children 's Research Center . SAHBA, with sponsorship from American Openings, hosted its annual Family Night at a recent Sidewinders game.
Donations through SAHBA members and their guests was $3,200. In addition, the Steele Research Center and SAHBA sold 50/50 raffle tickets. After the game, the Steele Research Center was presented with a $4,000 check.
Tom Regina, a SAHBA member, is co-owner of American Openings. In Tucson for 15 years, American Openings manufactures aluminum and vinyl windows and doors, custom design wood doors, and masonite doors.
The Steele Children's Research Center at the UA College of Medicine researches causes, and develops cures for childhood illnesses and diseases.
“SAHBA has a culture of doing community service work. It is all a part of our ‘Community Builder' mission statement,” said SAHBA President Ed Taczanowsky . “Because Tom Regina sponsored our Family Night, SAHBA was able to accept donations and give all of it to the Steele Children's Research Center .”
SAHBA represents about 725 member firms and 40,000 professionals serving the residential construction industry.
