SAHBA honors achievement at annual awards celebration

Doucette Homes and the Tucson divisions of Pulte Homes and Standard Pacific Homes were all honored as Builder of the Year at the annual installation and awards banquet this month for the Southern Arizona Home Builders Association (SAHBA).

Pulte homes was named in the large builder category, Standard Pacific won the award in the medium-sized builder category, and locally-owned Doucette won in the small builder category.

Washburn Custom Homes was named Custom Builder of the year and Canatsey Building & Development won Remodeler of the Year.

More than 730 people attended the banquet, held this year at Desert Diamond Casino. Other SAHBA award-winners were:

• Associate of the Year: Southwest Gas Corp.

• Trade Partner of the Year: Johnson-Manley Lumber Co.

• Individual Member of the Year: Jessica Bloom, owner of National Staffing Resources.

• Sales Manager of the Year: Barbara Tarrish, DR Horton Homes.

• Elected Public Officials of the Year: Shirley Scott, Tucson City Council, and State Rep. Jonathan Paton, R-Tucson.

• Non-Elected Public Official of the Year: Carmine DeBonis Jr., Pima County development services.

• SAHBA Home Show Award of Excellence: Chris Krueger, manager of The Home Depot.
