Home builders honor 14 for excellence
Mark Ragel, president of Patio Pools & Spas, was chosen as the recipient of the Home Show 35th anniversary award of excellence by the Southern Arizona Home Builders Association. In being recognized by the association, he joined with 13 others who were honored for their achievements during 2005. The Tucson area builders and remodelers, as well as associated business leaders and government officials, were honored for their work during the group's annual awards banquet.
C&C Construction, A.F. Sterling Home Builders and Lennar/US Home Corp. were recipients of the annual builder of the year awards, which recognized them for quality workmanship in the less than 100, 100-449 and over 450-unit categories.
Custom builder of the year was shared by Becklin Construction and Canatsey Building & Development, while the remodeler of the year award went to Dakota Builders. First American Title was chosen as associate of the year, while Tucson Plumbing was selected for the trade partner of the year award.
Lana Howard of Canoa Development received the sales manager of the year award, and Toni Southerland, with Southwest Gas, was named individual member of the year for 2005.
Elected officials State Sen. Tim Bee, R-Tucson, State Rep. Jonathan Paton, R-Tucson, both of whom represent Legislative District 30, were recognized for their efforts in Phoenix. Israel Torres, director of the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, was honored as public official of the year.
